Johnny's Italian Steakhouse: A Culinary Delight in West Des Moines

Amazing experience with our waitress Chandra. She was just the perfect server and did a great job even with it being at the end of the night tonight before close. Food was great. Drinks were great. Chandra was great!

Wow—what an incredible experience at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse! From start to finish, everything was exceptional. Our waitress, Haley, was knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely personable. She offered fantastic drink recommendations and timed each course perfectly, making the evening feel seamless and relaxed. The manager, Nick, truly went above and beyond, checking in to ensure our entire group was having a great experience. Outstanding service all around—we can’t wait to come back!

Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse was a surprise from the aspect that it is located within a hotel lobby yet operates in the manner of an old-school high quality restaurant. The Beef Stroganoff and Lasagna were fresh and tasteful. Service was impeccable. The location was tastefully appointed and dimly lit, which worked nicely. Overall, a very good experience with tasteful food, reasonable pricing and expansive menu selections.

Excellent food, drinks, and birthday dessert! I came here to celebrate my birthday. Tiffany was a great waitress. Highly recommend coming here for a birthday or other special event. Also, the Christmas decorations look great! If you’re here during the holiday season you are sure to be in the holiday spirit!

Celebrated my 10-year wedding anniversary at Johnny's and it was an amazing experience!! The staff and the service are wonderful!!! Our server Tiffany was excellent along with the other staff and the manager as well!! Cannot wait to go back!

Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse near Jordan Creek absolutely deserves five stars. I stopped in for lunch after my dog’s vet appointment, and the manager, Casey, could not have been kinder or more accommodating. I had my service dog with me, and he welcomed us without hesitation, making sure we had a comfortable spot and everything we needed. The atmosphere was calm and inviting, which was exactly what we needed that afternoon, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. The food was excellent, as always, and it made for a genuinely relaxing break while my mum finished up some shopping nearby. It’s rare to find a place that not only serves great meals but also treats guests with such genuine care. Thank you to Casey and the team for turning a stressful day into a pleasant one. Highly recommend Johnny’s for anyone looking for a great meal and thoughtful service.

I had been wanting to visit for a few years. So we made reservations and went. The wait staff was fantastic, the service was easy going and the feeling you were alone and unhurried was remarkable. The food was perfectly prepared. We started the meal with a watermelon cooler delicious, then a combination of starters, I had the chicken parm with fettuccine and a rare steak. Salad wedge was fresh with delicious blue cheese dressing. The bread was warm and fluffy with olive oil drizzle. We enjoyed the food. I must say I had never eaten calamari it was so good. The garlic sauce was yummy. My steak was perfectly cooked. The chicken was very thin slightly dry, the fettuccine was not fresh made but good non the less. The food was moderately priced. We enjoyed ourselves and plan a return with family next they are in town. Reservations not necessary but the wait just walking in was 2 hours. We had reservations and went were seated about 30 min early. Thank you to the staff.

We had an amazing meal at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse! We started with the sausage bread and toast, and the toasted ravioli—perfect appetizers to share. I had the Johnny's chopped chicken salad, and it was absolutely divine! My husband got a steak, and when I tried a bite, it literally melted in my mouth. This place was fantastic—we’re so glad we picked it!
